Mid-Air Collision Over Minaki!

Earlier this week, two flying machines collided in the skies over the new Minaki Aerodrome. A “battlebug” piloted by Governor Atashi and a UH-1D Bell “Huey” piloted by Lt. Governor Kim bumped each other while passing just north west of the runway.

Belching plumes of thick black oily smoke, both craft were knocked out of the air by the force of the impact, falling down into the waters to the west of the Aerodrome. The wood-hulled battlebug floated, but the Bell craft quickly sunk beneath the waves. Fortunately Kim was able to extract herself from the wreckage, and the shallow water in that area enabled her to reach the surface quickly.

In fact, neither pilot suffered any injuries in the collision or subsequent crashes. Both had a good laugh over the (mis)adventure, and things quickly returned to business as usual in the Colony.

In an unrelated note, the Minaki Aerodrome Association is accepting applications for the position of Air Traffic Controller…
