Colonial Waikiti

Overview

Colonial Waikiti currently consists of nine discrete landmasses (regions) each of approximately 16 acres. The exact dimensions of each region is 256 meters by 256 meters (65536 square meters).

The original region Waikiti was first colonized on March 9th, 2007. It was followed a little more than six months later by Waiki Atoll, which was opened up for colonization on September 13th, 2007. Minaki, Murulla, Berala, and Tangiwai were officially made part of the Colony on January 28th, 2008. Kaimai, Ranui, and Tangiroa were added to the map on March 15th, 2008.

The island of Waikiti is divided into nine residential rental lots, each of 64 meters by 64 meters (4096 square meters). These lots run along the western side of the island. The remaining territory is home to Waikiti Beach in the south, the Marina in the north, and the Mall in the middle.

The Waiki Atoll region is similarily divided, comprising eight residential rental lots of 64 meters by 64 meters (4096 square meters) each. The eight lots are situated on a medium-size island that is found in the eastern half of the region. A ninth lot stands on its own mini-island in the north-west area of the Atoll; this irregular-shaped lot is 8448 square meters in size. A third small island is found in the south-west part of the Atoll. This island, and the remaining waters (and reef area) are all classed as public land, available for the use of and enjoyment by Waikiti residents and guests.

Murulla, Berala, and Kaimai are zoned as mixed-use regions where either residential or commercial structures may be built; these three regions are each rented as complete regions, all 16 acres as a single lot.

Ranui is zoned residential, divided into two parcels each of approximately 8 acres.

Minaki is home to the Minaki Aerodrome, a small airport, hangar, and business facility. The entire region will primarily be available for use by Waikiti residents and guests. It will be available for short-term rentals as a venue for various events business uses.

Tangiwai is public space, and home to the old Tangiwai Trading and Imports building. Restoration work is ongoing, with some mysterious occurances frequently slowing work.

Tangiroa is currently under development.

Renting

Colonial Waikiti is well-loved by its residents and does not tend to have any vacancies on an ongoing basis. If you are interested in moving to Colonial Waikiti, come inworld and drop an IM or notecard to Atashi Toshihiko.

Future Expansion

We are always looking to the future and expansion is frequently considered. However, expansion will be undertaken as a slow, deliberate and well-thought-out process in Colonial Waikiti. Watch the Missives / News section for information on any new land discoveries or acquisitions.

After the arrival of our three on-order regions, we anticipate taking a break from expansion for a few months. When we do grow again, we will be looking at another normal sim, rather than more Openspace sims.
